I'm a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist, having worked full time as a counsellor for over 20 years, in the NHS, charitable and private sectors.
Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, with its impressive research outcomes, is the only model that I now use, because I have found it to be so clear, intuitive and effective.
By focusing on the relationship dynamics, I work to:
-Identify and stop repeating destructive patterns
-Promote mutual understanding
-Enhance caring and comforting
-Promote intimacy and loving sex
-Rekindle love
-Heal breakdown
-Assist with amicable separation / divorce
-Support co-parenting
I work via Zoom or face to face in Chesterfield UK
"If you're hurting and unhappy in your relationship or family, have hit a crisis, or are going around in repeating patterns of conflict or disconnection, come and see me for some help. We all have the human need to feel loved and securely bonded in our relationships. EFT is a wonderful model with a clear map. I'll help you to understand what's gone wrong, and guide you in how to reach out and find each other again" Celia

Session length and prices
Couples' sessions usually last for 50 minutes and cost £100.
Please enquire about the cost of family sessions.
Sessions are payable by bank transfer when sessions are booked.
Therapy structure:
The first session is about getting to know and understand you, discussing how we will work, and starting to explore what is happening in your relationship.
With couples, the second and third sessions are individual sessions, one with each of you, looking at relationships throughout your life, including your current one.
The fourth session is together again. We will begin to explore the patterns in your relationship more deeply.
On rare occasions we won’t continue working together after the fourth session. This may be for ethical reasons or because couples therapy might not be the right kind of support for you at this time.
Usually after the fourth session I will continue to meet with both of you together for the duration of the therapy.
Number of sessions:
This depend on how complex your problems are and how receptive you are to therapy. EFT couples counselling generally takes between eight and twenty sessions. Family therapy tends to be shorter.
