I am certified by the ICEEFT (International Centre of Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy).
I am married and a mother of 4 adult children. I am DBS checked and have NSPCC training in safeguarding.
If you're hurting and unhappy in your relationship or family, have hit a crisis, or are going around in repeating patterns of conflict or disconnection, come and see me for some help. We all have the human need to feel loved and securely bonded in our relationships. EFT is a wonderful model with a clear map. It'll help you to understand what's gone wrong, and guide you in how to reach out and find each other again. Celia
My counselling room is in a discrete, quiet location near the Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
The venue has free parking and wheel chair accessibility.
Zoom sessions are also an option for those that live too far away or live overseas.
Session length and prices
Couples' sessions usually last for 50 minutes and cost £80. If you prefer longer please ask.
Family session, usually on Sundays, last for 90 minutes and cost £150. 50 minutes family sessions cost £100.
Payable by bank transfer when sessions are booked.
The first session is about getting to know and understand you, discussing how we will work, and starting to explore what is happening in your relationship.
With couples, the second and third sessions are individual sessions, one with each of you, looking at relationships throughout your life, including your current one.
The fourth session is together again. We will begin to explore your relationship more deeply.
On rare occasions we won’t continue working together after the fourth session. This may be for ethical reasons or because couples therapy might not be the right kind of support for you at this time.
Usually after the fourth session I will continue to meet with both of you together for the duration of the therapy.
Number of sessions:
This depend on how complex your problems are and how receptive you are to therapy. EFT couples counselling generally takes between eight and twenty sessions. Family therapy tends to be shorter.
